Acne on any part of your body is not something that you will want to deal with; however, no matter your age, you will still find that you suffer from acne in some form. You may only think that acne can occur on your face. However, acne can happen over your entire body, particularly on your back and called back acne.
Back acne is often caused by a build-up of sebum and dead skin cells in the pores. This then causes bacteria to develop and a spot to form in that particular pore. These could either be blackheads or whiteheads. The good news is that you can always find a way to try and help to minimise it or stop it from happening in the first place for either type of spot.
Here are some of the best ways to help to take care of your back acne.
Shower, especially after building up a sweat
If you have been working out on a particularly hot day, then there will likely be a build-up of sweat on your skin. This build-up of sweat and dirt can be a huge contributing factor to your back acne problems. The best thing that you can do for this is to make sure that you always have a shower. Especially, when you have been in a particularly sweaty situation, such as working out or on a hot day.
Exfoliate
It is also a good idea to use an exfoliating scrub on your skin along with your shower. This will ensure that any dirt builds up is removed and the dead skin cells and oils. Doing this regularly (we recommend perhaps twice a week) is great to stop your pores from getting clogged and giving acne the chance to develop.
Eat well
What you eat can have a significant impact on your overall health. This is even true for your skin. If you find that acne is a real problem for you, then avoid foods with a high GI level, as these will cause a spike in your blood sugar. These foods include white bread, white pasta and potatoes too.
Instead, try to focus on fruits, vegetables, lean proteins and whole grains too.
Tea Tree Oil
If you want to try and help with the acne you have on your back and want to use natural products; then the good idea is to try out tea tree oil. This oil is made from the leaves of a certain tree that originates in Australia.
It has been used for many years to treat various skin issues in its pure form, mainly because it kills bacteria that can build up on the skin. It is now found in several products that you can buy for your skin.
The good news is that you don’t have to live with back acne; there are lots of things that you can do to help the way it looks, whether it forms, and how you feel about yourself.
